Every winter my asthma gets noticeably worse — more coughing, more nighttime waking, more rescue inhaler use. I want to break this pattern. 🌬️

    Asthma control cold season

    My winter flare-up checklist

    Measure Effect
Take controller inhaler daily Reduces airway inflammation 🫁
Wear a scarf over nose and mouth Warms and humidifies cold air
Check indoor humidity Keeps 40–50% to avoid dry airways
Get the flu vaccine Prevents virus-triggered attacks
Review inhaler technique Many use spacers incorrectly

    What the doctor emphasized 🔑

    • If I use the rescue inhaler more than 2×/week, my control is inadequate.
    • Peak flow logging catches problems before symptoms.
    • Nighttime coughing is a red flag — not normal.

What strategies have genuinely cut your winter flare-ups? Especially curious about indoor heating and allergen control. 🏠
