I have occasional joint pain and avoid painkillers because I worry about my kidneys. 💊 Which options are generally safer, and which should be avoided?

    Safe painkillers for kidneys

    General guidance

    Type Kidney note
NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) ⚠️ Use cautiously, short courses only
Paracetamol / acetaminophen Usually gentler at recommended doses
Topical gels 🧴 Lower systemic absorption
Physical therapy 🏃 No kidney impact at all

    Rules I follow

    • Ask a doctor before regular use
    • Never combine several painkillers
    • Keep hydrated when taking any medication

What do your doctors recommend for pain with kidney concerns? 🩺
