Heading abroad for knee replacement surgery next month. After lots of research, here is the checklist I wish someone had given me. ✈️

    International treatment checklist

    My checklist ✅

    Category Item
Medical records Imaging CD/USB, blood tests, medication list 📂
Insurance Check cover for follow-up at home
Medications Carry 3-month supply + prescriptions
Documents Passport validity, visas, hospital letters
Comms Translation app, local SIM/eSIM 📱
Follow-up Discharge summary translated for home doctor

    What did I miss?

If you have done medical travel before, what surprised you? What do you wish you had prepared? 🙏
