My 6-year-old has a blood test coming up and is terrified. 😟 I want to make the visit as calm as possible. What helped other parents prepare their kids?

    Child hospital visit preparation

    What I am trying

    Strategy Approach
Honest explanation Simple words, no surprises
Role play at home Practice with a toy kit 🧸
Comfort item Favorite plush or blanket
Distraction Tablet, songs, stories during the procedure
Reward plan Small treat after, planned together

    Questions 💬

    • What phrase calmed your child most before a needle?
    • Did numbing cream make a real difference?
    • How did you handle the wait time?

Any tips from parents who have been through this would mean the world — thank you! 💛
