My ankles swell by evening and I immediately think of my kidneys. 🦶 But I know other things cause swelling too. How do you tell the difference?

    Swollen ankles causes

    Possible causes

    Cause Clues
Kidney issue 🫘 Often with protein in urine, fatigue
Heart problem 💓 Shortness of breath, lying flat hard
Vein / circulation 🦵 Usually one leg, improves with elevation
Medication side effect 💊 Some BP drugs can cause swelling
Prolonged sitting 💺 Gravity and inactivity

    My plan

    • Track when swelling appears
    • Check both legs for symmetry
    • See a doctor if persistent or worsening

Anyone else deal with evening ankle swelling? What helped? 🧦
