I take a daily statin for cholesterol and am considering TCM herbal treatment for general wellness. Is it safe to combine both? 🌿💊

    TCM herbs and Western medicine

    Key considerations

    Herb (common) Known interaction risk
Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza) May enhance blood-thinner effect — caution with warfarin
    Ginkgo May increase bleeding risk
St John’s Wort Reduces effectiveness of many drugs

    My plan

    1. Tell my cardiologist about any herbs before starting.
    2. Ask the TCM practitioner for the exact formula and doses. 📋
    3. Do blood tests a few weeks after starting to compare. 🧪

Has anyone here successfully combined TCM with statins? Would love your stories! 💚
