My lab report shows an eGFR number and I have no idea if it is good or bad. 📊 Can someone explain what GFR means in simple terms?

    GFR blood test

    Rough guide

    eGFR (mL/min) Interpretation
    90+ ✅ Normal or high
60–89 Mildly reduced, common with age
    30–59 Moderately reduced
    15–29 Severely reduced
Below 15 Kidney failure, dialysis may be considered

    Reminders

    • One reading is not the whole story
    • Trend over time matters more
    • Talk to your doctor about your specific number

What was your GFR and what did your doctor say? 📈
